SUPERTECH PLANTS SEEDS TO MAKE BUSINESS IDEAS FLY

  • £10,000 DEVELOPMENT PACKAGES FOR NON-TECH FOUNDERS

  • ‘NO CODE’ AND AI TOOLS TO FUEL GREAT IDEAS

  • INVESTORS ON HAND TO HELP TURN IDEAS INTO MARKET READY BUSINESSES

SuperTech is launching its latest pre-accelerator programme for new firms in the West Midlands who need technology to fly. Up for grabs is over £10,000 investment of development time and learning support as part of the SuperTech Seeds package to make ten new businesses ready to trade.

SuperTech Seeds is supported by the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) as part of the West Midlands Innovation Programme. In 2022 the SuperTech Seeds programme funded and launched thirty new businesses creating more opportunities for growth, jobs, innovation and inclusion than any other startup programme in the region.

SuperTech, the UK’s only tech supercluster, is inviting non-tech business founders who need technology to move from idea to market ready to attend a launch event on Thursday 18th July. The evening is ideal for founders who are currently seeking investment to build and launch their startup, especially those which have minimum technical experience.

Anyone interested in attending should register here.

SuperTech Seeds works in partnership with Greater Things which helps founders to take their business idea to market utilising tried, tested and proven 'no-code' tools and micro-investments. Jof Walters, Chief Executive, Greater Things and SuperTech Industry Leader, said:

SuperTech Seeds is all about fueling great business ideas with the tech they need to take that idea from powerpoint to ready to trade. Seeds is not a generic incubator nor general business support vehicle but builds and develops the technology to create a minimum viable product (MVP).

“There are nearly 5,000 new tech founders every year in the West Midlands, but only around 100 receive the funding they need to start trading. SuperTech Seeds is unique – we’re about making them live and launched through a micro investment model with the most up-to-date development practices and embedding them into a supportive ProfTech ecosystem.”

Founders at the STEAMHouse event will hear first-hand from successful entrepreneurs and leading voices in artificial intelligence, including Jof Walters, one of the West Midlands’ most prolific investors in idea stage startups, and Heather Murray, a successful no-code founder and advisor on artificial intelligence (AI) to Government and ProfTech companies. SuperTech will walk founders through a pioneering approach to launching a business using the most up-to-date no-code/low-code and AI tools.

The interactive session is open to all, from graduates to seasoned professionals looking to embark on a new venture. SuperTech Seeds is available to businesses and residents based in the West Midlands. SuperTech wants to build on its track record in supporting more businesses led by women and people from minority ethnic communities.

Representatives of STEAMHouse, which is powered by Birmingham City University, will also be on hand to showcase its digital labs, business support programme and facilities.
